How You Can Help

An enthusiastic team of volunteers from the local area helps to manage Bishops Lydeard Village Hall. We provide our time free of charge to manage and maintain the hall and help to run and organise village events.

At present we have a small group who organise events and help run them. To enable more events to be held we need extra, enthusiastic, volunteers to increase the range and number of events held. You do not need to be a member of the committee to help in this way.

If you would be interested in getting involved there are many ways you can help, from occasional odd jobs, helping with events, fund raising, helping with general maintenance or becoming part of the management committee. If you are available to contribute a small amount of time then please contact us.

Donations

The village hall is very well used and as a result needs to be redecorated quite often. We also have a schedule to improve the facilities at the hall. Our present main project is insulating the large hall roof from the outside. This will involve the slates being removed, insulation being installed and new slates to replace the old. We are also looking into installing a lift so that anyone with a mobility disability will be able to access the stage. Although we do apply for various grants extra money is always required.

If you wish to donate to the ongoing work  please send any donations to Greg Allen, Treasurer, The Old Post Office, 2 Gore Square, Bishops Lydeard, Taunton, TA4 3BW. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Bishops Lydeard Village Hall Improvement Fund’. Donations can also be sent by bank transfer and can be Gift Aided. For information contact us.
